I received the following via PM:
I'm not aware of anything being offered by GE Fanuc, but Russ is privy to the latest product offerings. Perhaps he knows.
Personally, I have used the Horner mini RS232/RS422 converter for years and recently bought an inexpensive Radio Shack USB/serial converter. It works fine now that I have set it up to install itself at the same COM port every time I plug it in.
Here's a link to a PCMCIA serial port. Its offered by one the members here.

I have been following your replies to the posts that have had anything to do with GE. So, I have a question and thought that if anyone could answer it you could.
I have heard rumors of a comm. cable that is available for purchase with the standard 485 to 232 15 pin male converter on one end and a USB connector on the other end (where there is usually a 9 pin female). As I am sure you are aware real serial ports on laptops are quickly becoming a thing of the past! Any information would be greatly appreciated.
