I have a program saved in v13. I must load it into a processor in the field (1794-L34, Flexlogix 5434) whos firmware is at v12. For reasons I'll not go into, reflashing the firmware is not an option.
How do I save my offline file as v 12? I believe it has to do with converting to an L5K file but that is all I can remember.

  1. Use Save as to save as a .L5K
  2. Open the .L5K file in a text editor
  3. Change the IE_VER from 2.4 to 2.3
  4. Save and close the .L5K file
  5. Open RSLogix 5000
  6. File Open and select the .L5K file.
  7. Change the revision from 13 to 12.
  8. Import.
As long as nothing in the project wasn't in ver 13 you should be able to move backwards this way.
