Hi To All
I wated to ask if anyone can recomend any literature on diffrent types of ecoders/resolvers. I 'm trying to wider my knowlege on the diffrent types, and how they work.

I also have a 1746-HSCE high speed counter and i wated to match up an encoder for this module.

:oops:Thanks for all Your help.

A resolver is pretty much a thing of the past.

You can hook up pretty much any encoder to your counter card. The only real limitation is the frequency of the pulse train cannot exceed the max frequency of the counter card. You figure this out by multiplying the pulses per revolution by the speed at which it is going to turn.

Absolute encoders are a different animal.

I don't have any literature for you but here are a couple manufacturers web sites.
