Hi,
Is it possible to do i/o interrupts with a compact logix? If so, what modules are required?

When I try to configure an event, it does not allow me to select an I/O point/module. Is it for certain processors only, or not at all?

As I understand it, I/O driven EVENT task interrupts are only supported on ControlLogix controllers, because they involve the capabilities of the 1756 backplane.

The CompactLogix still supports the Consumed Tag, Motion Event, and Event instruction triggers for Event tasks.

If you have the need for a super-fast logic solver in the CompactLogix platform, the 1769-BOOLEAN module might do the trick.

What's the application ?

Thanks Ken,

The application may require detection of signals with short input pulses, & a decision made on that signal (maybe math or limit control..)

The high speed input module can detect down to 100uS, so I guess if a periodic task was set to 0.1mS, then it is possible that this could be detected.
Would this be feasible on the CompactLogix platform?

Looks like the Boolean module does the processing itself, and switches an output on the input state...?
