I was recently introduced to the new RSView studio by Rockwell people (i.e. distributor here in India). They say, the improvement over the earlier version is that one does not need to make new tags in RSViewME. It accesses directly the tags in RSLogix 5000 (in case of ControlLogix) and symbols for the addresses in RSLogix 500 / 5.
My doubt is that if one directly gives the I/O addresses in place of the Symbols, wont it speed up the process ???. (as against mapping the symbols to I/Os and then representing them in RSViewME).

Thats very easy software, especially if you use ethernet or run ME and SoftLogix in the same pc. With RS232 connection its little tricky. During few weeks there should be ver. 3.10 released. Thats should much better.
Good Luck

I'm not entirely sure of your question, but by directly accessing the tag you do save development time. You also have the option of creating an HMI Tag that lives in the HMI like a traditional tag. When you choose a tag for an object you can select either a direct tag or an HMI tag.
