I may have to load an exsiting program from a memory card from a panelview 900 into a panelview 1000, will I run into any road blocks? they are both color, and touch screens.

You can't do it without converting the program from a model 900 to a model 1000. This takes a few seconds in PanelBuilder32.
If you don't have PanelBuilder32, post your *.PVA file and the exact part number and firmware revision of the target terminal, and a Forum member can do it for you.
