ControlLogix - PLC5 MSG (1756 Gateway)

Trying to determine the correct Path for a read by a ControlLogix L-62 from a PLC-5/60B residing on 1756-ENET Gateway, Channel A, PLC 01.

1756-EN2T <192.168.1.99>
1756-ENET <192.168.1.100>
- Slot 2 1756-DHRIO/C
--- CH A

- Slot 3 1756-ENET/B

Trying to get an integer out of the PLC-5 to the ControlLogix.

PATH
192.168.1.99, 2, 192.168.1.100, 2, 1


Maybe I'm thinking of this wrong. Does the PLC-5 have to message out in order for the read to work? Doesn't seem to matter when I write into another PLC-5 processor from the logix if it is on it own IP. So I figure the gateway is throwing me.

DH+ messaging is a little different from all-CIP messaging.

The CIP Path takes you as far as the 1756-DHRIO, then the message processing gets handed off the the DHRIO module.

Take that last "1" off the CIP path so that it only goes to Slot 2 of that remote chassis.

Then fill out the DH+ style message options in the MSG configuration box, including the Channel (A or B), and the Destination Node #.

You don't need any instructions in the PLC-5, just a valid data table.
