hi guys,
i have a runtime file with .fwx extension, i am using wincc flexible2008 sp2 i just want to open it using the runtime but the problem is an error occurs "the data format of the configuration file xyz.fwx is in compatilbe recompile the config. file"
can any one help me with this keeping in mind i dont have the prg backup only a runtime was provided from manufacturer side

i am new using winncc flex every help will be appreciated
 
Hello Munir!!

You can try to make a backup of your HMI using SIMATIC ProSave. Now you can stay safe with the backup. It is also simpler to handle this.

Please try and revert.

Am sorry, I am mistaken. I suppose, WINCC flexible is a SCADA software especially for Simatic HMIs and the run time file is like an exe. Please clarify.

thx for all the replies just want to mention that i dont have the program backup just a runtime file with fwx format and a pwl file actually theres a problem in panel pc and i want to use its runtime file on my pc
 
thx jasper i saw the version it was win cc 2007 but the flexible software which i am using is flexible 2008 sp2 is there any way that 2007 runtime file can be opened on 2008 sp2 without recompiling

the problem is are there any different functions of 2007 which i need to consider before purchasing the license
