Mitsubishi A series PLC comunication via MD11

Hi there
I have tried every resource I could to get my lap top connected to A series mitsubishi via MD11 programming port. There is a Proface touch panel (GT 730 I think) cable connected on MD11 converter. I tried using the proface software to retrieve the PLC program and monitor ob line but was unsuccessful. Can any one please give me the right direction on this as to how I can monitor on line without taking out MD11. I can go to the plc if I take out MD11 but I just want to connect via MD11.
