Is there a way to duplicate the "local message display" component that is available in FTview Studio? where you build your message file and the component translates a number from a tag into a message string?

It doesnt seem like it, and I cant find any type of documentation for each instruction available in the toolbox. I see 2 instructions called alert message and alarm message, but I have no clue how they are supposed to work and my first inclination is that neother would work in a similar fashion to the local message display instruction in ftview studio.

PanelView Component HMI terminals applications are not related to the FactoryTalk platform or any PanelView Plus HMI development software such as FactoryTalk View Studio.
The development tools for PV Component applications are restricted to generic web browsers and the CCW software.

I don't believe there is a "Local Message" feature for Component Type AB HMI terminals; you could use the Alarm feature to display pre-defined messages depending of the state of a "trigger" CPU tag.
