I have a Micro Logix 1000 and a 1500 and want to connect one of them to my PC, running a Citect project. I have compiled the Citect Project but need to know what hardware and protocols to use. The Citect software does not have these processors in its drivers wizard.
Thanks for any help.

Can you try Citect's ABRSLINX protocol ?

Contact Citect's technical support, or type "Micrologix" in the knowledge base, you should read the following article (Q2840) :

- Summary
Can Citect communicate to the Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1000 &
1500 series PLCs?

- Solution
The MicroLogix supports the DF1 protocol. However, some models only support full duplex communications as follows

MicroLogix 1000 Series C and earlier Full-duplex DF1 only
MicroLogix 1000 Series D Both Full & Half duplex DF1
MicroLogix 1500 Both Full & Half duplex DF1

Citect drivers supporting Full Duplex DF1 include:

a) the ABRSLINX driver. This requires Rockwell's RSLinx OEM product. An application note is available on the FTP site.

b) a new DF1FD driver. It is likely to be unavailable for some time after the date of this article.

Citect drivers supporting Half Duplex DF1 includes:

a) The KE500 driver, included standard with the product.

b) When configuring the Micrologix device for Half Duplex, Slave, it must be changed from CRC to BCC Error checking. This change will make RSLinx unable to talk to the MicroLogix device. However, it has to be done for Citect to communicate with it. If you wish to switch it back you should contact Allen Bradley for default CRC settings.

c) When communicating Half Duplex the com forms are identical to setting up a SLC 500, however, if not using a DF Module you will only need to supply the node address in the IO Device form e.g. just the number 1 as opposed to 1,1.

d) When using RSLinx to change the settings on the Micrologix, make sure that you check the baud rate as RSLinx always sets it back to 1200bps.

Hope this helps

Micro Logix 1000, 1761 NET ENI and Citect

Can Citect talk to an AB micrologix 1000 sitting on an Ethernet netowrk via the AB 1761 NET ENI module? No drivers are listed for Micrologix at all, although I understand that DF1 comms are lsited as well as TVP/IP for other PLC's in the AB family.

Anyone run into this before? Appreciate any info pro con or otherwise!

Thanks,
Elroy

Micrologix 1000 1761-L32BWA Series E to Citect 7.1

Hi,
I have a Micrologix 1000 1761-L32BWA and are attempting to connect it to Citect Scada 7.1 via serial RS232.
I've read previous threads about half duplexing and error checking but changing to half duplexing via rslinx fails and when i change error checking to BCC from CRC it changes right back after connection.
I bought a aftermarket RS232 to ethernet converter as AB's is so expensive but that was no good either.
Their has got to be some way to connect to citect via serial, ive tried many drivers but no such luck.
Any help would be appreciated.o_O
