Hi all,
Does the ML-1100 runs Modbus RTU over plain RS232 point to point interface ?

The manuals are a bit confusing regarding 232/485 modbus... Its not clear if one MUST wire for 485 or not..

Thnkx much

The MicroLogix 1100 can run Modbus RTU protocol on its Channel 0 serial port either using RS-232 or RS-485.

If you are using RS-232, you can set the Control Line option for either "No Handshaking" or "Half Duplex Model (RTS/CTS Handshaking)".

If you are using RS-485, you must set the Control Line option for "No Handshaking (485 Network)".

The best way to connect to the RS-485 pins on a MicroLogix 1100's Channel 0 port is to use the 1763-NC01 terminal breakout cable.
