I had an S7318-2DP perform an automatic memory reset due to inconsistant data. The following was the relevant portion of the diagnostic buffer (the dates are incorrect and are in reverse chronological order).
Event 58 of 100: Event ID 16# 4301
Mode transition from STOP to STARTUP
STOP due to: Memory reset started automatically (power on not backed up )
Startup information:
- Time for time stamp at the last non backed up power on
- Single processor operation
Current/last startup type:
- Automatic warm restart after non backed up power on (with system memory reset)
Permissibility of certain startup types:
- Manual warm restart permitted
- Automatic warm restart permitted
Last valid operation or setting of the automatic startup type at power on:
- Automatic warm restart after non backed up power on (with system memory reset)
Previous operating mode: STOP (internal)
Requested operating mode: STARTUP (warm restart)
Incoming event
05:49:39:671 am 01/02/97
Event 59 of 100: Event ID 16# 430E
Memory reset executed
Initialization information: Memory reset due to inconsistent data
Previous operating mode: STOP (memory reset)
Requested operating mode: STOP (own initialization)
Incoming event
05:49:36:760 am 01/02/97
Event 60 of 100: Event ID 16# 4309
Memory reset started automatically (power on not backed up )
Initialization information: Memory reset due to inconsistent data
No relevance for user (Z1): 0001
Previous operating mode: No voltage
Requested operating mode: STOP (memory reset)
Incoming event
05:49:36:414 am 01/02/97
Event 61 of 100: Event ID 16# 494E
Power failure
Previous operating mode: RUN
Requested operating mode: No voltage
External error, Incoming event
09:13:44:411 pm 12/30/96
My question is this: The Plc had battery backup and FEPROM, so why would the plc perform a automatic memory reset and cause me to lose all of my hardware configuration and program? Where can I find more information on the Event ID's besides the text it gives you?
