Generating Alarms in WinCC

Hi,

Would anyone be able to tell me how to generate alarms in WinCC, I have my PLC program in step 7 and that works fine. I have configured the WinCC flexible with my step 7 program, is there anyone who can give me some advise on how to generate alarms at certain points within my program.
