My first experience with the PVs. I have to download the program from a PV550 #2711-K5A16X SER F which has RS-232 DF1 and RS-232 ports to a PV600 #2711-K5A3 SER F which has RS-232 and DH485 ports. Which cord set do I need? 1747-UIC? Thanks in advance.
 
Do you have Panelbuilder32 software? You need it. The PV550 is different from the PV600 so you would need to change the PV type in the software before transferring. You need to keep in mind that even with the same PV type (550, 600, 1000) there are other differences such as comm ports, color, keypad/touch that make each PV different in the software. I think that cable may work. What OS is the PC?
Another way without cable could be to use the PCMCIA memory slot on the PV. I have used an adapter type PCMCIA with a CF card to transfer programs. Handy when you make changes and don't want to drag a laptop and cable out on the shop floor.
 
FYI,

A 2711-K5A3 is also a PV550.

And yes your 1747-UIC should work just fine.

A 1747-C13 would be the proper cable. See pdf

What are you connecting the new PV to? It will need to support DH485 protocol.

The RS232 port on a DH485 PV is for a printer only, it cannot be changed.

I have a card. Do you have any instructions on copying the program from the old PV to the new PV. Thanks
