MicroLogix 1100, Kinetix 300 communication

Hi,

I got an issue while trying to communicate with the MSG instruction from the MicroLogix 1100 to the Kinetix 300. The MSG gives me the error code "d6 - Connection timed out by network".
I tried setting the MSG up as shown in the kinetix manual page 216.
In the sample code libary i tried to download the K300 ML1400 sample code (changed controller to a ML1100), but it dont work either. I get the same error "d6".
I am able to ping both devices, so network should be ok.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

What exact target IP address do you have configured on the Multi-Hop tab ?

Have you verified using a Web browser that the Kinetix 300 is present at that IP address ? I don't like to rely on PING.

Verify also that your MicroLogix and the Kinetix 300 are configured for the same IP subnet.

The kinetix drive is configured to:
IP: 192.168.1.4
Subnet: 255.255.255.0

MicroLogix is configured to:
IP: 192.168.1.2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0

In the Multi-Hop tab i typed: 192.168.1.4

I have verified that the Kinetix is at 192.168.1.4, i can communicate with it through MotonView

I forgot to mention this is a new setup
