stratix 8000 Trunk

Hi guys:

I am trying to setup the trunk for one stratix 8000 switch port. Below is the commands I entered through putty:
- en
- configure t
- int F2/2
- switchport mode trunk
Everything looks fine, no error message.

Then I type command "do show int trunk" to verify, but found nothing is changed. Looks like the command not take effect.

Any idea? Precondition? Miss step?

What do you get when you do this:

(do) show interfaces f2/2 switchport

Do you have link on that port? Cisco does not update the trunk command unless there is a link, at least on the products that I use.

Thank you. You are right, it can only accept trunk when I have the link on. I get it fixed as you mentioned.
