Hello,

I have a laying out a system that will have a CompactLogix rack and I had a question on the power for the inputs and outputs. I was planning the rack as follows:

* PLC
* 5069-IB16
* 5069-IB16
* 5069-FPD
* 5069-OB16

I was planning to run 24VDC to the SA Power connection on the PLC to provide power for inputs to the two 5069-IB16 cards. The purpose of the FPD was to connect 24VDC that runs through the safety contactors so that power to the outputs would be killed on an e-stop. However, I noticed that the 5069-OB16 has a connection for LA power and now I'm not so sure. Could I just connect the 24VDC that goes through the estop chain to the LA connection on the 5069-OB16 and forgo the 5069-FPD?

If I did this, then I guess any downstream cards would then still have the original non-estopped power and I would just have to connect the estopped power to the LA Power connection of any output card that I want killed by an estop.

Thanks,
Keith
