In the 1200, I think you get 4K for logic and 2K for data storage. The separate memory module is for non volatile storage. See pages 8 and 9 for the 1200: http://literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/sg/1761-sg001_-en-p.pdf Looks like some of the other models allow for data logging and recipe storage, but not the 1200.
