Good day All,
I am getting Error 1 when I try to open trends on my client. I tried to resolve the problem by creating .cab files but that did not work. I then tried updating all my servers with the latest patch rollup and my clients stopped pulling data from the plant. When I try to open FTView SE studio/ FT linx/ Communication setup I get Error 2 and when I click OK, I get Error 3 and FTView SE studio becomes unresponsive and crashes . If I completely uninstall all the patches, my communication returns and my clients start working again but trends still give Error 1 when I try to open them. The patches I installed on the Engineering station are shown on image Patch installs.jpeg.

I have the following setup installed on 6 servers in a workgroup:

Server 1 (Primary)
OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 standard 64bit
Software installs :
-FT services v6.20,
-FTView SE Server v12.00,
-FTH Live Data Interface
-Network Directory
-FT Linx v6.20
-HMI server

Server 2
OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 standard 64bit
Software installs :
-FT services,
-FTView SE Server

Engineering Station
OS: Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB 64bit
Software installs :
-FT services v6.20,
-FTView Studio v12.00
-Studio 5000 Logix designer v33.00
-FTHSE Management Tools

Historian Server
OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 standard 64bit
Software installs :
-SQL 2016 Express
-SQL Server Management Studio 2019
-FTHSE Asset Framework
-FTHSE Server v7.01
-FTH Analysis services
-FTH Notification services
-FT VantagePoint v8.20
-FT Services

Client 1 & 2
OS: Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB 64bit
Software installs :
-FT services,
-FTView SE Client

This is my first server commissioning and I've tried to follow the manuals best as I could. If there's anyone who's faced a similar problem and resolved it please share. Thank you.

Hopefully these links might help with your issue.
The issue is most likely you have an older ActiveX control (.OCX) installed on the client and need to register the new .ocx that the trend graphic is needing.
You can use the FTV>Tools: FTV Application Documenter to examine the graphic for the ActiveX control file version needed.

This thread I linked to RA TechConnect article but at the time RA was migrating away from legacy KB id's.

Here is that corrected link:

FactoryTalk View SE/ME/RSView32: Unable to load ActiveX control for display

Then it refers to this article:
