Allen-Bradley 1769 HSC/B Encoder Module

I have a problem with a AB 1769 hsc/b module. I want to save a pulse value and I put it into the preset register which will get transferred to the current count register. It works when the module first powers up.

However when I try to do this a second or subsequent time after the module is first powered up it doesn't work. The reset counter function doesn't work as well.

Any ideas???

Because the Preset is a Configuration parameter you will have to send a 'Module Reconfig' message to the module. I have attached images showing this code (we are changing the Max Count - a similar type parameter).

When we begin we Unlatch 'Done Counter Reconfig' and Latch 'Doing Counter Reconfig'. This disables counting during this process.
