Rootboy, can I ask you the origin of your PLCS nickname?

I got during a (heated) discourse on running linux as root. I didn't see any problem with it, so I told them they could just call me "rootboy", and it stuck.

Probably "Ratboy" but miss-spelt

I shouldn't have done that as I don't know him, but it was too much of a gift.

I can't gripe, I'm the one that started it. Besides, I'm nothing more than the product of the public education system...

I guess that those that live by the ploome, die by the mispelling.

I always thought that you were probably a Tennessee ginseng and yellow-root hunter. I previously lived in the woods in the hills of Tennessee, and often had ginseng hunters come around asking if they could hunt for roots on my land. I always let them and told them if they worked harder than the last 10 groups, then they might find a few plants. After a few years they stopped bugging me.

In my young days, ginseng hunters, revenuers, and other trespassers were shot, buried, and forgotten. Now with the current socialist idea of "your land is my land", some people frown on the old ways.
