channel configuration in analog

i am using analog NI8 slc 5/03 but i dont know what is purpose of 8 different channels available and which i should be using to start with also i have configured it once using input 0-10v and 0-16384 but when i vary the voltage fron 0-10 the input varies from 390-5550 why is it so bcz it should vary from 0-16384.
 
you have to configure each channel, each channel allows a different device in order to hook up a channel there is some physical jumpers you need to set. Also you must program the channel configuration, then you can scale. Heres the link for the users manual its all described in here

follow the procedures in this and you'll be set thee is examples on how to set up for 0-10 volts depending on what data format you wish to use.
chapter 5-2 describes how to configure a channel.
