MicroLogix 1100 Ethernet Channel configuration

Hi Experts,

I am new to this forum and have a question regarding AB MircoLogix 1100 Ethernet port IP configuration.

As per the ML1100 User Manual (1763-UM001F, page227), there are two ways to configure the MicroLogix 1100 Ethernet channel 1.
•via a BOOTP or DHCP request at controller powerup
•manually setting the configuration parameters using RSLogix 500 Programming Software

I have successfully configure the Ethernet Port by above methods. however, I found a company internal document suggesting the IP address of ML1100 can be modified by using RSLinx.

I have the ML1100 (IP configured, BootP & DHCP disabled) shown on RSLinx, but when I right click on the ML1100; there is no "Module Configuration" option appeared.

The version of my RSLinx (Classic Lite)is 2.59.01 CPR9 SR5 and the ML1100 is 1763-L16BBB B/14.00.
ML1100 is directly connected to my laptop with a single Ethernet cable.

Can anyone tell me if RSLinx can be used to configure IP address of ML1100?

Simple answer is no.
I would suggest that you internal company document is incorrect

Doesn't the 1100 have a keypad which you can assign the IP address?

You can view the IP address but you cannot assign it from the keypad.

So if an IP is set via boot-p and then boot-p is disabled, how to change it at a later date if required?

you can change the comms channel from the keypad, then change the IP in software as needed

Connect through the serial port.

Thank you for all of the replies, so the ML1100 user manual is correct; we have to modify the IP address of ML1100 by BootP or RSlogix500 only.

Regarding assigning IP through keypad, I think that is a feature of ML1400, not ML1100. As ianingram said, we only view the IP on ML1100 but not changing it.
