Jiri,
You are right.
I had another very long chat with another AB Rep. Software specialist, and the more I think about it, the better RS View 32 is looking. Everything we need to do can be handled in RS View 32. A copy of RS View 32 Run Time is gonna be cheaper than my time hacking in VB. Plus, what happens when Bill Gates changes to 64-bit windows? Will my VB 6.0 application work anymore? Probably not. I'll have oodles of time later supporting my application later down the road. But If I choose RS View 32 now, I know that AB will stand behind their product and make RS View 32 capatitble with Windows 64-bit or VB.NET in the future. It will be less stress for us I am sure of it.
DDE still works great for those simple things in life, but as for logging massive amounts of data, reporting and tracking parts...I think for longevity of support and less headaches later, RS View 32 looks pretty good in my eyes.
