Kindly, we have the following module.
POINT I/O EtherNet/IP Adapter Module , Catalog Number 1734-AENT , Rockwell

It is series B and revision 5.
Can we downgrade it to revision 2. ?
To use it in place of a damaged one, which is series A and revision 2.

Thank you

I don’t believe you can. That is, swap a series A for a B, set the address switch and be off and running. It’s Rockwell, remember?

Most likely it will require you to delete the series A from the program and add the series B.
Probably will have to add your I/O back in too.

I have done this a few times, just been awhile.

You do not need to downgrade the firmware. In your PLC program, ensure that the hardware configuration for this module is set for "Compatible Module", not "Exact Match". A series B v5 will then work just fine, even though it is configured in your PLC as series A v2.

What type of PLC is the 1734-AENT connected to? What is the firmware revision of that PLC?

That should be fine. The technote specifies v17 or later, and you have v17.

The only other thing to check is the model number and firmware revision of your 1756 ethernet module: as per the technote, "The 1756-ENBT module must have the revision 4.006 or greater."
