Friends, I got a program in RS Logix 20.03 and trying to open in same rev 20.03 but it is giving error, details are below
Fatal Error!

Application Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockwell Software\RSLogix 5000\ENU\v20\Bin\RS5000.Exe
Elapsed execution time: 4 minutes & 34 seconds

Version: V20.03.00 (Release)
Source File: unknown
Line Number: -1
Function/Method: unknown

OS Version: Windows 7 64-bit (Service Pack 1 - Build 7601)
Thread Id: 00001ed4 (7892)

Error 0xc0000005 (-1073741819)

EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION - An "access violation" exception was generated.

Can you help me to sought out the problem and what is remedy?

Go to the AB Knowledgebase and enter the error code line as a search. Many of the results require a tech connect agreement. There are too many for me to summarize here but the most likely deals with Factorytalk.

Version 20 was giving me periodic headaches also (until I upgraded to v20.04) and the only fix I found was to go into the control panel, open "programs and features", right-click the entry to RSlogix 5000 v20.0x and select change and that would open the installation wizard. Then chose the repair option. That would fix it for a few days. This only occurred on v20.01 or v20.03 on my laptop.

Crashes when selecting "who active"

I began having a similar problem as the one described in this thread, however it only happens when I select the "who active" option from RSlogix 5000 or Studio 5000 (happens with any version of logix or studio: 20, 21, 26).
If I create a new program, "who active" works fine, it only seems to crash when there is a previous online path recorded along with the project. I have tried the "reset path list" and "clear project path" options within the "select recent communication path" popup with no results, the controller name gets cleared but the IP address remains in the path field. Anyone has any ideas on how to overcome this? As it stands right now I will not be able to download a backup to a new PLC in case of trouble.

This is the error I get:

This was a common problem in version 20 and the remedy was usually to right click on the RS500.exe application and choose to run it as an administrator. Once this was done the problem was fixed.

Try it.
