Error state message flashes for multistate indicators in PanelView 300

I am new to using the Panelview 300. I notice that when I first enter a screen that includes a multistate indicator, the Error State message is flashed, presumably until the PV has a chance to get the state from the PLC. Is there a way to avoid this?
