Getting Started as an independent consultant

I am going to start with a quarterly subscription to Acad LT. I am pretty good with AutoCAD, to the point that i spent a considerable time doing 3D work and have written a number of add-on programs in a couple of languages for it. It is going to hurt not having full blown ACAD and all of it's features for a while, but at that price tag you have to make sacrifices some times!
 
I'm kind of curious how he made out as well, although he hasn't posted in here since July 2015...
 
I contracted Jason for a couple of jobs, what I could, and then I got busy with work that required on-site presence and that turned out to be problematic because we live about 4-5 hours drive apart.
I emailed with Jason about a month ago and he was doing some small contract integration jobs local along with starting employment with a local distributor that made him an offer that he couldn't refuse. He says he's doing very well.
