Grand Daddy of signaling devices!

An alternative idea could be using a lighting contactor to flash some or all of the lights if it wouldn't create a safety issue.

We put up a train horn in the 40 ft ceiling for a customer once and it was set when they hit an E-Stop to get everyone's attention because this was a dangerous operation and we set it up so that it took a key and a password specific to each person from maintenance and one from the safety manager on the shift to reset it and an incident report was written.

It was really funny watching operators who were bad about hitting the e stop or pull cord because they were too lazy to walk 5 feet to hit the stop button which stopped everything in the correct sequence and caused no issues.

Before we added this they would be lazy and use the e stop and cause all kinds of issues and sometimes damage equipment but once this system went into place it stopped after the first 2 people did it.

I got to witness one of them and it was super funny watching him run around trying to figure out how to get this huge menacing horn to shut up.

The whole plant was coming and he was the only one near an e stop. Priceless.

Or a lighting contactor to KILL all but just enough lights to get around in the plant, or put all other machines in E-Stop (or Cycle-Stop) mode.

A guy who lives just up the coast from me has this on his roof. It no longer works but I am sure it could be fixed if necessary.
