I'm trying to flash firmware revision 28 for a 1769-L33ERMS PLC. Where can I download the firmware files from ?
I reinstalled Studio 5000 v28 and ControlFlash hoping that would install the files but the screenshot still shows as blank ?

I can't find a separate download just for the firmware either. Please help !o_O

From the Rockwell Product Compatibility and Download Center which is a not-at-all confusing and difficult to navigate site.

Fortunately, firmware tends to be reasonably straightforward once you find the right website. Just type in the part # of your device and you should be on your way.

Once downloaded, you will need to use the DMK extraction tool to extract the downloaded firmware files so that ControlFlash can find and use them.

You can also use ControlFlash Plus, which allows you to find your device with Linx, and will then show you all possible revisions of firmware for that device, whether you have them downloaded or not. It then allows you to select the one you want, and ControlFlash Plus will download it and flash the device. To do this you will need an internet connection, and will need to sign into your RA account via the software.

Rockwell PCDC is the worst ! But I did find the firmware through the part # ! For some reason it is still not showing up in CF but I was able to get CF+ working !
Thanks ASF !

Hello folks. Has anyone tried to download recently a firmware kit from Rockwell? If you locate the firmware in Rockwell's Downloads site, it installs it as an *.exe file and you can see it installed as any other software in the OS. If you go to Programs, then it will show that it installed the kit (like any other Windows patch) BUT there is no sign of having installed any *.dmk file anywhere in the PC. Therefore the ControlFlash program cannot find it!

Is there a way you guys can tell me if Rockwell is still providing firmware *.dmk files because it does not seem like. It was so easy to get firmware just getting the *dmk file. Thanks!

I just downloaded a *.dmk file fine on my computer. Which version specifically are you trying to download?

I just downloaded a few firmware updates. Two of the newest firmware and two older versions. They all gave me DMK files.

The exception was when I downloaded firmware for a PV+ 6. That does indeed give me an .EXE file that has to be installed. But I believe it has always done this because it includes the Firmware Upgrade Wizard tool along with the firmware. Sort of like back in the day when you would download Logix firmware. That was an .EXE and it would include ControlFlash along with the firmware.

I don't see any change to how they've done firmware downloads. Maybe there is something specific you are using that I didn't try though.
