Hi, guys, how’s going?

How to transfer applications from Panelview Plus to PC, then configure it via Factorytalk View ME?

There are 4 applications on our Panelview Plus 1500. I want to configure one of them, e.g. add new buttons, and then transfer them back to Panelview Plus 1500.

Thanks a lot.

The ease/difficulty changes based on the revision of the terminal and the application.

Can you verify what version the application is using? At the terminal go into Terminal Settings and then I think it is System Info and FactoryTalk View Station. Something along those lines.

If all your Panelview+ are of a newer version AND the original author didn't encrypt or remove the rebuild information in the MER file, it is a fairly straight forward process.

Open "ME Transfer Utility" that was installed FTView Studio, browse to the Panelview in Linx Enterprise, and UPLOAD the .mer file from the Panelview and save it on your PC.

Once you have the .MER file, open "Application Manager" (has an icon like a nuclear radiation warning sign) and select "Restore Runtime Application" Select the .MER file you uploaded from the panelview and follow the prompts. If all goes well, this will add the project to the project list in FTView Studio so you can make changes.

After you make changes and create a new .MER file (be sure you create your runtime file with a version less than or equal to your panelview+ firmware), use the same transfer tool to DOWNLOAD the application to the panelview.
