Does anyone know where I can get a copy of software to program an "Idec fa-1" and also a programing cable?

Your IDEC rep might be a good starting point. I think you'll find more info here.

The WindLDR software should do the FA1, however when I have asked about leads for one of these before in the UK it was expensive, and you could probably but a starter kit for the Microsmart PLC for not much more.
