Ircon is the rolls royce of non-contact thermometer, omega is good also.

Thanks for the info....I ended up going with an IR thermocouple feeding into an Omron temp controller.

Omega. They also sell the temperature controllers if you have any leeway on that. I have an Omega IR gauge, analog out, feeding into a temperature controller and it works just fine.
