Micrologix 1100

Hey Guys...HELP!
I have a 1763-L16BBB.Dont have a serial port on my laptop so trying to connect to it with ehternet.I can see the controller in RSWHO in RSlinx 2.51.I can get Data Monitor to read it.

I can get the built in web server to work @ IP 192.168.2.226 but dont know the password.(Changed from fact default)

I have no problem runiing SLC racks on this setup.

My problem is when ever i try to access the controller in RSLogix 500 I get a "not a SLC500 or micrologix controller"error. even tho I go to comms and can see it @ 192.168.2.226 on the AB_ETHIP-1 network.

Any ideas?

Make sure you have the correct EDS file installed. it may be possible that RSLinx can identify the device (hence no yellow ?), but needs an updated EDS file to fully connect it to RSLogix.

You can get the EDS files from:
http://www.rockwellautomation.com/resources/eds/

You must use the EDS registration wizard to install the file once downloaded.

What version of RSLogix 500 are you running ?

What is the firmware revision of the MicroLogix 1100 ?

If the MicroLogix has firmware newer than your RSLogix 500 supports, you'll get that error. Check the Release Notes that come with RSLogix 500 to see which new firmware releases and hardware devices are supported by your release.

Thanks s0 much fellas.Updated to RSlogix 500 Version 8(CPR9) and that took care of it.I appreciate you guys helping out a newbie
