This is the motor nameplate from one of the powder hoist motors on the USS Texas an older generation battle ship, built in 1911-1914 ish.
The motor is 125 DC, 11 HP. Notice it is listed as "continuous current", direct. I bet getting shocked by an 80 amp DC circuit would curl your toes.

My brain automatically filled in 19 before the patent dates instead of 18, wild to see something this old out in the field. Does it still work?

125vDC is not a good feeling, it'll "grab" you worse than 125vAC for sure. At FLA, this thing would be pulling 10kW, good times.
