Hi All,

I am replacing CJ1M with CJ2M with existing IO modules and PLC program. I am facing this error.

"ERROR: There are three or more automatically allocated areas. Please change the allocation area."

Could anyone please help me with this error.

Thanks in Advance.

Have a look at the rotary switch settings - if the processor is a CPU31 or above set the unit number to 1. Then the analogue to unit 2 and the temp card to unit 3 and see how you go. I have been using Omron since 1985 and have never seen the error you describe.

Hi Bob,
I am new to Omron and when I checked the Memory Allocation option in cx programmer for the CJ1M CPU we can set it up to 3 numbers and when I changed the CPU to CJ2M in the Memory allocation option, I couldn't set more than 2. Could you please let me know is this the root cause of the error ?

Hi Bob,

Thank you for your response. The model number is CJ1M CPU 12 Replaced by CJ2M CPU 12.

Later I found out that the memory allocation for CJ2M is less than CJ1M. I have changed the memory allocation and cleared that error.

Thank you so much for your kind help.
