From the "Important Product Information" for Logic Developer - PLC, the minimum supported firmware level of a CPU331 is 4.50 or later. For a CPU311 it's 4.40 or later.

Unsung, did you order a new CPU331 or did you just order the chip to be swapped out?

The reason I ask is that I have done a few chip exchanges and you need to very concious of static, the chips can be a little touchy. Try not to touch the pins at all.

Just the chip. I've got my static shoes and vest and a wristsrtap. I'll try not to fry it.
