Panelview 1000 to 25 pin female communication port

I am having problems connecting to panelview 1000 using 2711NC13 and 9 pin to 25 pin converter...

i used same setup parameters (Rslinx) to other laptop with 9 pin serial port..it worked fine...am i missing something here???

From what you are saying it sounds line a new laptop with a 25 pin paralell port and no serial port, will not work if it is the printer/parallel port. If the panelview uses DF1 then you may be able to use a USB or pcmcia to serial adapter.
