Greetings all, I am setting up a PLC training class for some inexperienced technicians. This will be very basic and will be based on three platforms we currently have on the production floor, Koyo405, SLC500, CompactLogix. I am looking for ideas for code examples and labs that will illustrate basic principles. All suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Use the above programs it would give them hands on with what they are working with

For basic stuff, ask them to write a program that runs a set of traffic lights (cliched I know!).

You can also ask them to write the software for an automatic garage door (ie. motor up, motor down, proxy to say door open / closed etc).

You could write the software for a 3 - storey lift.

Also, a washing machine (ie. door lock, open water valve, run motor, after time, stop motor and open drain valve, after time unlock door etc).

Is that what you're after...??

;-)
