Hi,I'm new to programming micrologix. I have a micrologix 1000 but my dell studio laptop has no db9 connector. My laptop has only three usb, one vga and 1 (rj45) network connector. Is there another way that I can program it? I have already a software micrologix starter and rslinx software in my laptop.

The USB/RS232 converter I strongly recommend for DF1 Full Duplex protocol and RSLinx Classic software is the Keyspan/Tripplite model 19HS. It's about $40 USD retail.

There are many less expensive USB/RS232 converters on the market. If a day of your time is worth more than $30, I strongly recommend avoiding them.

I've owned a dozen USB/RS232 converters and the only one I use regularly is the 19HS.
