Hi, The MicroLogix 1200 has a Com 0 port and a "HMI/programming port". When looking at the PLC, there is a port on the left side and a port on top (on the front face). Which one is which? This is not addressed in the manual and I don't have one here to look at. Thank you!

I have the manual...not the PLC...the manual does not clearly indicate which is which. Although if I had to bet money on it, I would guess the Com 0 is the one facing up and the programming port is on the side.

All ML's use the Mini8DIN for programming. It also can be used for a HMI.

I was called to a shop where their guy [Bubba] was suspecting the port had failed because RSLinx DF-1 could not connect to it. A quick check where the Mini8DIN cable plugged in it already went and see it went to a PanelView 550 - K5, which is DH485 ONLY, so the port was changed.
