Hi,

I have a question about using the Datastation with Idec PLCs.

Has anyone done this before? I currently have two FC4A PLCs that communicate over Idec's Data Link system(RS485) connected over fibre. Given that the PLC was developed with Telemec who sell it as the Twido I can only guess that it is communicating over some form of Modbus.

Anyway, due to a site upgrade one of the FC4As is being changed for a TWDLCAE40DRF, which is then going to communicate to a screen(XBT GT) over Ethernet and several other devices on CANopen.

I was thinking of using the Datastation rather than using ASCII commands to connect to a RS485 port of the Twido. Will this work?

Cheers,

Jon.
