Hi Guys
Just wondering if I replace a faulty G120C with new G120C, is there a FDR (Faulty device replacement) option so the new drive will get its IP and settings loaded to it automatically?
Using a S7-1515 cpu

Thanks in advance

Most Siemens devices take a memory card of some kind, and you can move it to the next device for simple device replacement. Sometimes they are required for the device to function, but sometimes they are optional (and therefore often ignored unless people know better). Not sure which category the G120C falls in.

you can use the drive control panel (IOP) to save the settings from the drive to the IOP and then save back from the IOP to the new drive. They also have SD card support so you maybe able to swap the card as mk42 mentioned

The faulty drive is dead...So I presume the control card is faulty. Not the end of the world I will just commission the new vsd.
I will check if a memory card was installed but I doubt it.
I have used quite a few other brands (mostly over EIP or Modbus TCP/IP) and normally on the plc or master you can setup some sort of FDR which will load previous device settings if the part number is the same. And since the profinet does automatically load the ip address to my devices as in the devices and network setup in TIA i thought i was going to be lucky
Thanks for the advice so far
