RSlinks communication timeout?

having communication timeouts in rslogix! everything seems fine in RSlinx, but when i try to connect to my SLC 5/03 it starts to talk for about 15 seconds or so, then quits. Then a comm timeout appears. if i go back to rslinx, restart the driver, then the 'x's go away and a can try again. but the same thing happens again and again.... didnt seem to happen when system was new, but in the last 6 months has been a pain!

Are you using DF1 or DH-458 networking ?

Have you defined a Diagnostic File for each communication port ? The data in that might lead you to find a physical problem with the connection.
