I had to replace a Safe-pak relay, which is an intrinsically safe switch relay (Class I, Div 1). However, when I bench test the bad relay and the good relay, I get the same result on the output. The switch side has two terminals for the sensor input. The output side has three terminals (L1, N, Output1). I always get output voltage across N & Output1, whether I jumper the two input terminals or not. I guess an intrinsic relay doesn't work like a normal relay does. Is there a special way to bench test one of these relays to see if it's good or not?
