Hi Everyone,
I have got an issue with SCALANCE S612 from Siemens and I hope you will able to help. I want to set up a simple connection between two PCs through a SCALANCE S612 as a test for future use.
The SCALANCE S612 v2.2 is set as a router/NAT. On the external port of the module I have connected one PC with IP address 192.168.2.100 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and Default gate way 192.168.2.1 (which is the IP address of the external port of the SCALANCE S612). On the internal port of the module is connected another PC with IP address 192.168.0.25 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and Default gate way 192.168.0.1 (which is the IP address of the internal port of the SCALANCE module).
The routing mode of the module is active as well as the NAT option where I have set the external IP address as: 192.168.2.100, the internal IP address as 192.168.0.25 and the direction: External->Internal.
My IP rule in the firewall is as follow:
Allow External->Internal SourceIP: 192.168.2.100 DestinationIP: 192.168.0.25
I have been trying for a couple of times now but I am not able to ping the internal device (192.168.0.25) from the external PC (192.168.2.100). Though I have configured my router to allow communication from external to internal network I am not able to ping the internal network from the external network?
Surprisingly, in this configuration (external to internal) I can ping the external PC from the internal PC without even configuring it. How is it possible??
Is there anything I am missing in the configuration?

Your help will be really appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Sonia
