slc5/04 with panelview 550

hi all1
i want to communicate and programme my slc 5/04 with panelview550 2711-b5a5,,
can any one guide how i communicate HMi with my slc5/04,,

and how i interface both to communicte each other(means how i declare protocols and adressing)?

Your PV supports DH485 protocol. You will need to configure the serial port on your SLC5/04 to DH 485 protocol. You can then use a straight thru cable AB# 2711-NC13
or construct your own.

Pin 2 to 2
Pin 3 to 3
Pin 5 to 5

If you want to connect to both with a programming PC/Laptop then you will need a couple of 1761-NET-AIC ( see pdf below)
If your PC/Laptop does not have a real serial port then you will need a 1747-UIC ( USB to DH485 converter) to connect to your DH485 network.

but confiquration Dh485 protocols ??this confuse me,,,some literature or guide how protocols are declare and adressing pv?

You configure the SLC's serial port thru RSLogix500.
Under "Channel Configuration" See picture below.

Configure the PV's port for the same baud rate as the SLC and a different node address Using Panelbuilder32 software. Or thru the PV's configuration screen.

Be advised once you change to DH485 protocol you will need some hardware to reconnect to the SLC' serial port, the above mention 1747-UIC. Or a 1784-U2DHP (USB to DH+ converter) to connect to its DH+ port
