Hello all,
While not being a newbie to the instrumentation field, I am not a frequent user of 2-wire proxximity switches. What I want to know is, how do you bench test a 2 wire proxy? Surely if you wire the device to a normal 24v dc power supply, you will only measure the PSU output, regardless of switching condition of the proxy? Any help in this regard will be greatly appreciated.

Shaun Nel.

A 2 wire prox is designed to switch something, otherwise it will not be useable, so to bench test, put a relay in series with the wiring, which is the same concept for its normal use.
