I have a Siemens laptop with Step 7 connected to a Siemens HMI with Win AC right now. I want to upload to the laptop, but I get an error:

"Online CPU Type 6ES7 671-7EG00-0YA0 V4.0.0 unknown"

I suspect this laptop does not have this CPU profile in it's library, but I'm having a hard time making sense of that because the version is NEWER than the original version... "V5.5 + SP3 + HF5, Revision Level K5.5.3.5" versus the original "V5.4 + SP3 + HF1, K5.4.3.1.3.4.0.1, K5.4.3.1"

Can anyone advise what my solution is? I am at the job-site right now.

Thanks,

Brian

6ES7671-7EG00-0YA0 is Win AC MP. Here is the manual:
http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/26729818

In chapter 3.2 it says:
To be able to use WinAC MP on the HMI device, it is mandatory that you keep to the
following sequence during installation on the configuration PC:
1. Install STEP 7 V5.4 SP 4 or higher
2. Install WinCC flexible 2008 SP1
3. Install WinAC MP 2008
So you need both WinCC Flexible and WinAC MP extension for STEP7.

You were faster to respond than the Siemens Technical help desk! Thanks!

I bumming tonight over compatibility issues... The original project was done in 2007 versions of everything, and the run license on the HMI goes with that. All the software on this Siemens Field PG is 2008 versions, without a new run license. I'm afraid that tomorrow I'll find out that all this work to get the Win AC MP will be for nothing.

While searching for info on the 6ES7671-7EG00-0YA0 I found a service entry stating that all WinAC MP 2007 could be upgraded to WinAC MP 2008 free of charge.
Maybe that is helpful to you.
